Evolution of home accounting

Home accounting was known even to princes, tsars and landowners, who kept strict records of their funds and household property. It is hard to say when it became popular among ordinary people. But the form in which it was kept differed from the modern one.

Everyone kept it in their own way: some recorded income and expenses, some built up savings and recorded only them. There were those who kept track only of debts, and some who did all of the above.

Initially all home accounting operations were done on paper. A special notebook or pad was kept for this, where all operations were recorded. At the end of each month the totals were calculated from these records.

With the appearance and spread of personal computers, home accountants who had skills in Microsoft Office were able to adapt to keeping home accounting in Excel. It is perfectly suited for this purpose. It lets you quickly create tables, uses different cell values, and allows you to record numbers, actions and amounts. At the end of each month you can sum up the results with the AutoSum function and mathematical formulas.

On this basis, programs for keeping home accounting began to appear over time. They already had a ready list of operations and formula settings that calculated all the necessary totals. Such programs can be installed on a computer, or accounting can be kept online.

Our server is one of such programs. The idea of creating it appeared back in 2012, in the middle of March. It took the developers a little less than a year to create the necessary application that would work online and to create technical support for it. After the launch a lot of inconveniences and errors were found, which made them release a new version just a month later.

The server developers regularly update the program, introducing new changes. They watch not only the novelty of their own product but also study competitors' programs. Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of competitors makes it possible to improve their own service. The latest version today has many advantages. It differs from its analogues in high-quality debt accounting, multi-currency support, mobility and much more.

Even though the program has been brought to its most convenient version, work on improving it does not stop today. The developers strive to stay one step ahead of their competitors, not letting the product become outdated and lose its relevance.
