Non-standard expense items

As a rule, when talking about home accounting, all authors focus on the main items. They include primary needs: food, clothing, housing, education. But it is also worth paying attention to the fact that a person's life consists of more than household chores and work. One way or another, everyone needs rest.

Even the smallest cells of a market economy, such as a family budget, are subject to its conditions. Almost every action of a person entails costs, and therefore is a financial operation, which must be recorded when keeping home accounting. Rest is no exception.

Online home accounting provides a corresponding item in the income distribution section. Since in this program you can name the items yourself, you can also decide its name yourself. Depending on the nature of the expenses, it can be placed in one of the sections of financial operations.

Such expenses are of two types:

  • monthly;

  • one-off.

In the first case they involve regularly setting aside money "for rest" and using it during the reporting period. This section can include both visiting cultural and mass events and various interests and hobbies. In this case the sum allocated from the budget for these purposes is 10% of total income. This item is entered in the "Expense financial operations" section.
The second option involves significant costs for "large-scale" events. The first thing that comes to mind in this situation is a vacation. It really belongs to this expense item, because the operations connected with it are made once. When using our service it makes sense to put these expenses in the "Planned financial operations" section, the allocation rate for which will also be 10%. But they will not be connected with the funds mentioned above.

A big mistake when planning a family budget is leaving out other events. They include organizing holidays and celebrations. As a rule, such activities entail significant costs and require special attention when preparing the annual report. At your discretion you can put these funds under either "Planned" or "Periodic financial operations". The monthly allocation rate for them should not exceed 10% of total income.
